Overview
The Facilities Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings/facilities to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations. Provide excellent service to the clients at all times.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Crush all cardboards that the night crew has discarded during the night s production
  • Empty all garbage cans within the warehouse facility
  • Sweep up all debri in isles, walkways & pick modules
  • Clean guard rails and pole barriers quarterly
  • Run the scrubber on a daily basis to keep the dust down within the warehouse facility
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as instructed
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms within the facility
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, and according to specifications
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals as needed
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
  • Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation
  • Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) to move, store, or stage product in or on storage racks
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience
Physical Demands
  • Physical demands include frequently sitting and operating a motor vehicle
  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56lbs
