The Opportunity:
The Materials Control Lead is primarily responsible for shipping, receiving, material movement, and job kitting, as well as maintaining accurate inventory, cycle counting, physical inventory and troubleshooting inventory issues. Working closely with Planning and Manufacturing to ensure that parts are available when and where needed to meet the production schedule, this position provides work direction for the Materials group consisting of Inventory Control, Receiving, Material Handling, and Shipping, ensuring compliance with metrics and work instructions provided by management. This position is based in New Prague, MN.

Job Outcomes You Must Get:
  • Coordinate receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations to ensure Electromed meets daily shipping requirements in accordance with Electromed's planning process.
  • Maintain and stage flow of raw materials from Receiving, through Quality Inspection, and into appropriate raw material inventory to support manufacturing job requirements for a warehouse supporting approximately $2.5 million in inventory and processing (approximately 3,000 SKUs)
  • Accurately process PO receipt and reconcile packing slip with PO.
  • Receive & locate materials into the warehouse & record transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure claims for damaged deliveries and shipments are processed in a timely manner.
  • Move material between warehouses using forklift as required.
  • Organize warehouse to ensure clean environment, efficient use of space and picking process.
  • Perform job kitting, job closures, oversee flow of completed jobs into FG inventory utilizing proper ERP software. Record necessary documentation (i.e., closed jobs, material transfers) and provide documentation (i.e., packing slips) to other departments as required.
  • Kit materials for manufacturing to ensure parts are available when and where needed on the manufacturing line.
  • At completion of manufacturing jobs, ensure LOT control and S/N traceability are accurately implemented for all finished product.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPI), including shipping accuracy, receiving accuracy, inventory accuracy and others as provided in specific metric supplied by management. Identify problem and success areas, utilize cross-functional teams to address continuous improvement as needed.
  • Plan material shipments to alternate shipping sites to prevent stock outs and satisfy inventory requirements and Electromed inventory policy.
  • Coordinate and conduct formal cycle counting as determined by management, including assign or execute counting duties, audits of counts, and count gap reconciliation.
  • Coordinate annual forklift certification and training of applicable personnel including backup operators. Monitor forklift maintenance and safety checks.
  • Oversee product returns (per Electromed Warranty policy) process including ERP processing of RMAs to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide input to materials processes to ensure accurate documented process exist and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide feedback to Operations Management for regular performance reviews of Materials team.
  • Provide mentoring to the materials handling and shipping team members.

Job Outcomes Requirements:
  • Two (2) year technical degree and / or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • APICS Certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in material, inventory control, shipping & receiving functions.
  • International shipping experience including processing of customs documentation.
  • Possess a solid understanding of ERP systems and how they are used to control inventory and inventory transactions.
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment utilizing ISO 13485 quality system or other FDA regulated environment.
  • Familiar with UPS World ship, FedEx, and DHL helpful.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office.
  • Detail oriented, motivated self-starter.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to provide direction to others in order to achieve agreed upon goals or objectives.
