The role of Senior Investment Policy Specialist is responsible, in collaboration with the Director and other concerned units, for the development, improvement and compliance monitoring of the bank’s policies and processes related to the activities of the Investments function, as well as for the development of key results targets and performance indicators (KPIs) related to the strategy and operational plans of the function. The role also coordinates and reviews the work of lesser experienced team members and provides them with technical guidance.
Investment Policy Development:

- Constantly review the existing investment policies, rules, guidelines and processes and make suitable recommendation to the management in order to improve efficiency, effectiveness, adherence to the regulatory framework and ultimately maximizing returns on investments for the Bank while minimizing the risks
- Develop the Investment Policy Statements for each of the IsDB’s managed funds, with assistance and guidance from the Financial Policies, Planning & Analytics Unit, if needed. The investment policy statement must include, but not limited to; risk-return objectives, risk tolerance, investment horizon, Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), liquidity requirements and investment constraints.
- Obtain approval on the policy statements and any relevant guidelines as per the approved Delegation of Authority Matrix.
- Contribute to the development of key results targets and performance indicators (KPIs) related to the strategy and operational plans of the Investments Department.
- Serve as a focal point for matters related to investments policies, providing expert advice and resolve relevant inquiries/issues from internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent IsDB in the related fora and conferences to showcase the activities of IsDB.
- Assist the Partnership Development Complex in the preparation and organizing of IsDB’s Annual International Sovereign Wealth Forum.
Operational Excellence Support:
- Provide technical guidance and review the work delivered by less experienced team members.
- Ensure effective implementation and adherence to the respective policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Keep abreast with the latest developments, regulations and best practices in the field and propose improvements in IsDB.
- Provide necessary inputs in the preparation of the Department Budget and in monitoring the actual expenditure against the approved budget.
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Businss Administration/Finance/ Investments or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Asset Management/ Investment Banking, of which 4 years in managing external funds.
