We are currently seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Finance Shared Service Center in the capacity of Senior Manager – TxBOT.


Overview of the role
Managing tax compliance for the Al-Futtaim Group entities in Egypt.

This managerial position is responsible for driving and executing the Effective Tax Management Model in Egypt. It includes working with Tax Community Members in Egypt and taking ownership of Tax Record to Report processes, which include tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax documentation for the Al-Futtaim Group in Egypt.

The successful candidate will work closely with Al-Futtaim Group Tax, Divisional Tax Managers along with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals in carrying out its responsibilities.


What you will do

Tax Compliance

  • Ensure correct and timely filing of all Tax Returns based on country specific tax calendars and prepare/review Direct/Indirect Tax Returns with support from Business Finance and external Tax Advisors.

Tax Community

  • Coordinate with Business Finance teams in Egypt.

Tax Accounting

  • Record necessary tax journal entries, manage tax provision tracking, tax balances on general ledger and compute tax liabilities.

Tax Document Management

  • Ensure all documents are collected on a central database and handle requests for information, and adequate tax documentation maintained for tax audit purpose.

Tax Controversy

  • Preparation and submission of timely responses to queries from Tax Authorities under the direction of Group Tax and in close collaboration with Business Finance teams. Ability to liaise with Tax Authorities in Egypt and external tax consultants in resolving tax queries and investigations.

Transfer Pricing

  • Ensuring that the Egypt entities adhere to the Transfer Pricing Regulations (where applicable) and ensure proper transfer pricing documentation is maintained under the direction of Group Tax.

Tax Reporting

  • Prepare various tax schedules for internal tax reporting as management requests.

Automation

  • Resolving tax related system issues in close coordination with IT. Actively identify, engage and support automation initiatives.

Tax Inspections

  • Being the focal point of contact with the different tax authorities in terms of all required inspections, manage the relation and documentation with support from tax consultants to reach the best inspections results. And liaise with Business Finance to ensure full understanding of the tax position for each tax type.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • To liaise with relevant managers and stakeholders to ensure full collaboration and understanding of critical topics.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the solutions and business processes.
  • Maintains and upgrades professional knowledge, management skills and domain expertise by using continuous learning & development tools.

What equips you for the role

  • Tax, Finance or Accounting certified
  • Egyptian tax knowledge is essential
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification is preferable
  • 10-12 years of Egypt Tax experience
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (written and verbal)
