We are seeking to recruit a Sessional Supervisor who we can call upon to work a variable number of hours at times between 07:00 and 01:30, weekdays and weekends. You will have the responsibility of observing practice and giving feedback/support to ChildLine volunteers and staff counsellors who are answering contacts from children and young people whilst assessing risk and ensuring performance standards are met.


You should have relevant experience in counselling, social work, youth and community work or a related discipline, one of which should have included supervising staff and/or volunteers. You will need to have a sound understanding of child protection and legislation relating to children and young people and understand the issues that concern them.


A good communicator with a flexible approach, you are first and foremost a team worker who enjoys supervising the development needs of others. You will also be committed to protecting and enhancing the lives of children and young people. Late evening and weekend work is a regular requirement, and you should have good evening and weekend availability.
