Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic guides. Discover Impactful Work:

The Metrologist will join our Lab Support team to Provides maintenance on various laboratory instrumentation and equipment with occasional direction from senior staff. Maintenance includes installation, routine and remedial maintenance, calibration

and/or qualification. Performs and documents work in accordance with standard operating procedures and established maintenance schedules to meet regulatory requirements. Works with lab staff and schedules maintenance and trains others on equipment as needed

A day in the Life

  • Provide support for routine maintenance on instrumentation and equipment
  • Provide support for scheduled calibrations and qualifications on active instruments
  • Provide support for audits on lab instruments and equipment
  • Document and perform work in accordance to GMP requirements and SOPs
  • Work with lab staff to schedule maintenance
  • Maintain and evaluate lab support records
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Metrology team on all activities

Education and Experience

  • Education to Bachelors level Electrical engineering/Chemical/Pharmaceutical Sciences or similar
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years)
  • Experience in Repairs and maintenance of instrumentation and assets

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Good understanding of Lab operations and support needed within a lab
  • Interest in Laboratory equipment and their operations
  • Strong understanding of GMP
  • Ability to adhere to laboratory policies and standard operating procedures
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work without close supervision
