Job Summary:
Category Specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the designated product/category. He will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing/ procurement/ supply chain, marketing, and sales, to ensure the successful launch and continuous improvement of product category offerings. As a Category Specialist, you will have a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional products that meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
· Category Strategy and Roadmap Development:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify market trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
- Define product requirements, specifications, and features based on user feedback, industry standards, and market demand.
· Category Development, Sourcing and Launch:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to launch.
- Work closely with supply chain and design teams to ensure products are developed according to specifications and within defined timelines, budgets and commercial goals.
- Conduct user acceptance testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve product prototypes and designs.
· Category Lifecycle Management:
- Monitor and analyze product performance, market trends, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and new product opportunities.
- Define product pricing strategies, SKU rationalization, and product lifecycle plans.
- Coordinate with manufacturers / supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely product availability.
· Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with marketing and sales teams to develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Support the sales team with product training, sales collateral, and customer presentations.
- Work with customer support and quality assurance teams to address product-related issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Industry and Competitive Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance industry knowledge and build relationships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven experience as a Category Lead or similar role within the home building material industry.
- Strong understanding of construction and renovation processes.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong market research and competitive analysis skills.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Proficiency in Category management tools and software.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Rs105,000.00 - Rs145,000.00 per month
